Friday’s Feast #125

January 5, 2007 By Jenny Ryan 27 Comments

Appetizer: Which celebrity (or celebrities) do you think will make headlines this year?

I plan on increasing my own personal celebrity this year and expanding the use of my powers through humor. To that end I recently signed up with My Space as an artist so that I could upload and prominently feature my humor podcasts, which you can listen to here.

Soup: They say that good things come in small packages? What is something little that you think is great?

Coca-Cola. So much happiness packed into such a tiny red can.

Salad: Name a song that makes you want to dance.

Even though I have no idea what it’s talking about, I always want to dance whenever I hear “Black Horse and a Cherry Tree” by KT Tunstall.

Main Course: What is your favorite font?

Um, I don’t really have one. I do have a favorite number, though-8. Actually it’s probably more of an obsession. Before I got married, both my first and last name had 8 letters in them. And I was born on the 8th of October. And whenever I’m listening to people speak, I’m always rearranging their words into groups of 8 syllables. Hm…perhaps I’ve shared too much.

Dessert: If you were to write a do-it-yourself article, what would it be about?

Actually, I did recently write an article about how to survive as a generalist, or as someone who is interested in everything, in a world of specialists and experts. And so to continue today’s theme of shameless self-promotion, and to give my friend Karen (who kindly included it in the humor section at her site) over at Square Peg People some link love, you can read it right here.

Thanks for sharing your feast. I have to agree, coca-cola is a great thing to have around. Diet coca-cola for me, that is. Have a lovely weekend! Mine is served too.

    Great feast!
I love that song. Make mine a Diet Coke too, but it always gives me a smile too!

    Happy Friday Jenny!

On your 365 photo, you look like how I feel right now! I feel all stuffy. I hope you feel better soon.

Coca-Cola is the nectar of the Gods.

Katherine McPhee ruined Black Horse and a Cherry Tree for me. I can’t help but see her silly butt rolling all over the floor in my head when I hear that song even if it’s KT singing it. :/

Great Feast! I love the number 8 too for actually many of the same reasons…and I thought I was the only crazy one. Happy Friday!

Great feast Jenny! So cool that we picked the same song to dance to ๐Ÿ™‚ I love that song and it always makes me feel better after I hear it!

Before I was married, I had 8 letters in both my first and last name, too! I was so glad to shorten my last name to four letters, and to no longer be one of the million “Michelle Anderson’s” in the world. ๐Ÿ™‚

I was born on Oct. 5, but the friend-I’ve-kept-in-contact-with-the-longest’s birthday is the 8th. I’m 3 days older than her, and she never lets me forget it. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Thanks for stopping by my site!

Thinking of the main course…. “Obsessive compulsive” has eight syllables! It has to be a conspiracy! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ ๐Ÿ˜€
(I can understand that, I seem to find threes and sevens from everything… and hidden meanings in my surname and and… “Hello peeps. I’m Outi, and I’m OCD.” (Though I prefer to claim that I’m just interested of this and that…) ๐Ÿ˜‰ )

    Hey Jenny!
    Thanks for stopping by =)

According to the fonts, just try out the following sites

    http://www.dafont.com/
    http://www.1001freefonts.com/

Most of them are freeware, but some are shareware… you can download them and use them for free a few days. Thereafter youยดll have to pay for them. Iยดve never downloaded a share ware font so far.

    Have fun =)

First of all thanks for stopping by my feast today and leaving me a little love! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Second of all, and most importantly however is this: whether you like it or not I just became one of your people. Your how to article? Well, lets just say if I was a crier I’d have been crying, and laughing, and crying, and laughing, and…

I totally “get” you! And hopefully that’s ok, too! I’m still struggling with my dilettante-ness, but I have a feeling your article will be a turning point! THANK YOU!

We live in a world of specialists and it’s hard when no one “gets” you. I’m so happy to know I am not alone. I think, whether you like it or not you may have just become one of my people! ๐Ÿ˜‰
