I would call a person like that a teacher, not a soul mate. And I would call every person that stirs us up a teacher. That’s pretty much what Jung was saying:

“Everything that irritates us about others can lead us to a better understanding of ourselves.”

I had the same kind of friend… I never thought of her that way! It took me a super long time to “release” her, but I know I’m the better for knowing her. Interesting. Maybe I’ll have to pick up that book.

I so agree with this concept. Soul mates tend to stir shit up! They make us really uncomfortable. And we have more than one in our lives…how fun is that?!
You have been such a brave babe through your life…here is just more proof. Love that! Its tough to be face to face with a soul mate and then when the growth is complete…to leave. I love that when the time was right…ya just knew it and you were able to end this relationship in such a graceful way.
