China Regulates Buddhist Reincarnation

“In one of history’s more absurd acts of totalitarianism, China has banned Buddhist monks in Tibet from reincarnating without government permission.”

And how, exactly, are they planning on enforcing this?

The issue raised doesn’t surprise me somehow. After all, the Chinese government has also already designated the next supposed incarnate Tibetan lama. Of course, this is before the current one has passed on, and had the chance to reincarnate. Anyone who thinks reincarnation can be regulated by Earthly powers may be missing a few marbles?
